Mark Leslie chauffeured the radio inventor’s family on a whistle-stop tour around Ireland in March.
The Marconis were rapturously welcomed in Ballybunion, site of the first transatlantic voice broadcast in 1919. En route, Marconi’s daughter Princess Electra, her son Prince Guglielmo, and his wife Princess Victoria visited Birr Castle, Castle Leslie, and the Martello’s Lartigue Museum. The monorail ferried Marconi’s equipment to and from Listowel to Ballybunion.
