Completed in March 2013, Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre asked Martello to update their exhibition in the visitor centre attached to the original Dalkey (Goat) Castle.
Martello consolidated all the content from the previous exhibition and added more to it, both words and images, in order to present it in a coherent and consistent manner. The main area involves a large 14 metre long timeline that wraps around the space detailing the history of Dalkey and its inhabitants from pre-history right through to the 21st century. Touchscreens embedded along the display allow the visitor to delve deeper into the main topics and also view the information in 12 different languages.
St Begnet's Church and graveyard are interpreted by simple elegant panels that enhance the stunning views out of the floor to ceiling windows.
Finally, a Writers' gallery was created to celebrate the rich history of creative figures that have lived or been inspired by Dalkey and the surrounding areas.
